Local Rock Star
Teaches Future Rock Stars!
July 4, 2005
Be In A
Band is the motto and the name of a new business started
by Jon Siebels, founding member of the hit rock group Eve
6. The La Crescenta band sold over 3 million albums in
their tenure on RCA records. Jon and his two business
partners have teamed up
to help other musicians experience
what it is like to play in a band. “For me, playing in a
band is so much more fulfilling than playing guitar by
myself.” said Jon. “I have had so many awesome
experiences playing in bands, and I have enjoyed showing
other kids and adults how to get started.”
Be In
A Band offers 10 week courses in Rock, Pop, Jazz and
Blues. They organize the bands, schedule the classes and
separate by level of ability. (Beginning, Intermediate
and Advanced).
The bands meet once per week at
the "Be In A Band" recording studio in Montrose. At the
end of the course, the bands are recorded and each band
member receives a pro CD of his or her band.
One of Jon’s
business partners is his dad, Dave Siebels. Dave has
been a professional musician for 35 years and has played
with many name acts like Ray Charles, B.B. King and Rita
Coolidge. He also scores films and TV shows. “It’s very
satisfying to see the progress and enthusiasm of the
groups that I’ve worked with.” said Dave.
“Playing in a band raises the enjoyment and commitment
level of any musician who tries it.”
Amy
Yazzetta is the third partner and administers the
business and schedules the classes. “It makes all of us
happy to give something back to the community that we’ve
been a part of for so long.” said Amy. The number to
reach her and reserve a spot in a band is 818-249-MUSIC.

on about playing their instruments or singing.
We're accepting students who play keyboard, guitar,
bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone, flute, trombone and
vocalists. Each student meets with his or her band
and instructor for one hour per week for ten weeks.
The classes take place in our studio facility in
Montrose - near the 2 Freeway. Drums, amplifiers.
keyboards, PA and microphones are provided.
The classes are scheduled between 4 PM and 10 PM week
nights and all day Saturdays. The instructors are

artists and/or have been members of famous bands!
The ten-week sessions are specific to a style of music.
These styles are: Rock, Pop, Jazz and Blues. If a

Note to Piano Teachers |
|
| |
Your students must be working on a basic knowledge of
chords and various accompaniment patters. If you'd
like to know more about playing and teaching those
styles, we have workshops to help you. This could
also be an opportunity for you to work with us as a band
instructor. If you have knowledge of any or all of
these styles and have the skill of instructing each
instrument, let us know. We'll be happy to speak
with you about it. Please call Amy at
